COMPUTERISED ROUTER

CNC Router

A computerised Plastic router works almost the same as any other CNC machine. A Computer Numerically Controlled system which uses computer software and CNC controller electronics to drive a mechanical system. Using this setup, it is possible to achieve far better accuracy and precision than a human operator.

Our computerised router can move and cut in three directions which are usually referred to at the X, Y, and Z directions. The X-axis is usually the longest of the three running front to back. The Y-axis runs from left to right while the Z-axis runs up and down.

These machines are very efficient in that they work in all three directions in near perfect unison, giving this machine the capability of cutting complex shapes.

VACUUM FORMING

Vacuum forming

We offer a complete thermal vacuum forming service form prototyping to quantities of more than 100 pieces. Vacuum forming is a traditional plastic manufacturing method that uses a special vacuum forming machine and patterns. It is an extremely cost-effective way to make multiple prototypes or small production runs of thin-walled plastic parts.

The process is relatively simple. A pattern is made to represent the inside surface of the object you wish to make. It is placed into the machine along with a thin sheet of plastic. The plastic is then heated to a temperature where it becomes very flexible. The plastic is then lowered over the pattern and a vacuum system pulls the plastic down tightly over the pattern. The formed piece is then removed and trimmed.

LASER CUTTING

Laser cutting is a technology that uses a Laser to cut materials, and is typically used for industrial manufacturing applications, Laser cutting works by directing the output of a high power laser, by computer, at the material to be cut. The material then either melts, burns, vaporizes away, or is blown away by a jet of gas, leaving an edge with a high quality surface finish. Industrial laser cutters are used to cut flat-sheet material

MACHINING

Lathe Machining

Modular Plastics has a collection of material-working processes in which power-driven tools, such as Lathes, Saws and Drill presses and Planners are used with sharp cutting tools to mechanically cut the material to achieve the desired geometry. Machining is a part of the manufacture of almost all Plastic products,.

FOLDING AND BENDING

Acrylic benders and Folders

HOT line bending is a process that we use to produce fixtures with a premium appearance. Traditionally performed with acrylic sheet and alternative plastic materials, such as PETG sheet, which offer advantages for hot line bending. These include ease of processing and a cost-benefit ratio better than more traditional materials. Hot line bending is a fabrication technique for plastic sheet used to create a variety of retail fixtures, including magazine and brochure holders, shelving and high-end displays. This process is a more efficient alternative to bonding, as corners created by hot line bending plastic sheet are typically stronger than those created by attaching separate sheet pieces. This enhanced strength provides displays with more durability to withstand the harsh retail environment, decreasing the risk of breakage and extending fixture lifespan.

FABRICATION

Whether it's a blueprint, CAD drawing, or just a pencil sketch, Modular Plastics has been making it happen for a very long time.
Modular Plastics uses all the above processes then they are Glued or welded to produce your required result. Whether it be a tank for chemicals or a Acrylic display box Please check out the Photo gallery for many examples of our recent work
